Travelling Gypsy Jewelry Wagon

I did it! I quit my job as a waitress to spend the summer doing craft shows and festivals with my jewelry. As I don't have much money to spend, my set-up is pretty primitive... a tent, two folding tables, and not nearly as much jewelry as I thought I had!

My mom and I set up our first booth at the 4th of July celebration in Burnsville, NC... it was pretty small, not too many sales, but it was a good dry run to figure out what was missing from my set-up, things I should do differently.... plus, sales or no sales, I am always interested to see what pieces people are drawn to when everything is laid on the table. I am often surprised that what I consider to be my best pieces are not the ones people look at the most.

This weekend I am at the Carolina Mountain Ribfest at the Agricultural Center in Asheville, NC. Yesterday I started setting up my booth at about 11 in the morning, even though the fair didn't open until 4. Not too many people came through last night, and only one sale but I heard similar results from my fellow exhibitors, so I guess I can't take it personally. We are all hoping today is the busy day where we all have a lot of sales.

Photography Revamp

My goodness, photography is a lot of work! I bought myself a bustform (with a pierced ear!) and built a lightbox, and now I am working on retaking all of my jewelry pictures. It's extremely time consuming, and hopefully this very nice camera that I don't really know how to use will help! I have a lot of jewelry to photograph, so it may serve me better to do this in pieces... stay tuned to emariejewelry.etsy.com for new and (hopefully improved) photos, coming soon!

Newest Item

I held onto these beads for a long time before using them... I only had 3 and they are just so cool! They are ceramic discs about 7/8" or 2cm in diameter and 1/4" or 7mm thick, green with black speckles. Silver seed beads and black glass beads with silver edges (9mm) are used as spacers. Toggle clasp shown is pewter but can be changed to silver or silver plate on request. The bracelet is 8 inches (20 cm) long and can only be resized by adding or taking away links at the ends. I could only shorten it by about 1/2", but can add links no problem. Buy it here!
